Because Senior Living Should Still Feel Like Home

"I don't write too many reviews but I really thought this facility deserved it! Putting you mom in an assisted living home is a very hard choice but my mom just could not live alone after my dad passed. I looked at many places but between the high cost and what was offered it was a tough balance, or so I thought. Clover Hill is a small home with only 13 residents. The good thing about it being so small is the residents have more attention placed on them and their needs are met quicker than the larger places. It is not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive and you really get your money's worth here! It is essentially a big mansion with a sitting room with a fireplace and large screen TV, an outside porch area, an organic garden, a theater with leather seats, beautiful and spacious common areas, arts & crafts area with larger than many resident rooms to decorate any way you wish. The place itself is immaculate in cleanliness! The chef Mark is a graduate of the Culinary institute and the food and presentation are on level with some of the finest restaurants. You will find meals such as salmon steak, pasta with home made sauces, desserts like lemon meringue pie to name a few items. In fact when I left last night it was a special celebration including non-alcohol champagne with berries and a beautiful steak and lobster. I want to live here!!!! The staff is second to none and genuinely care about the residents and it shows. It is a tight family style atmosphere where everyone knows one another. Machanga is the director of operations and her door and phone are always open even late at night. Recently my mom had a sickness which caused her a hospital stay. Not only did she pay every attention to detail but actually went to the hospital with my mom. Who does that? Many places would say that's not my problem but she went with her and stayed until I arrived and communicated with me through the wee hours of the night, morning and continued throughout my mom's hospital stay. What an asset to this facility! That in itself is enough but it does not stop there. Doreen, Elva, Dawn and Crystal are always making sure my mom has whatever she needs which at times can be a lot. They really treat my mom like a person and with respect. This staff is really the best at what they do and I have seen many so I don't say this lightly! This place really is the cream of the crop!! If you are researching places for your loved ones and have never been to a facility before I would suggest you go to other places first so you can see just what you get for your dollar. Look at the upkeep, talk to the staff and even the residents. Then go to Clover Hill. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find and that will make your decision much easier. You will sleep better at night knowing that your family member is in good hands! Great job and thank you to the entire Clover Hill staff!"
